The key questions most parents ask before they begin.
Can I preview the book before I pay?
Yes. Before you check out, you can review your photos and page previews on the book builder page.
What photos work best?
Most phone photos work well. Choose images where faces are clear, subjects are not too small, and the photo is not heavily blurred.
Can I use group photos or pets?
Yes. Group shots and pets are welcome. Close-ups usually give the cleanest colouring outlines.
What is included in each book?
Each Toodaloo book includes twenty personalised colouring pages made from your photos, a thick cover, a personal message page (add one during creation or leave it blank to handwrite later), and a colour test page.
How many photos do I need?
You'll need twenty photos to complete your book. Each one becomes a colouring page.
How long does it take to create a book?
Most parents finish creating their Toodaloo book in under five minutes. It depends on how quickly you choose your photos and review your pages.
Can I create my book on my phone?
Yes. The book builder works on mobile, tablet, and desktop.

How personalisation works and what your finished book includes.
Can I add a personal message?
Yes. You can add a dedication message during creation, or leave it blank and handwrite one before gifting.
How big is the book?
Every Toodaloo book is 21cm wide and 25cm high. That is the same width as A4 and a little shorter, so there is plenty of room to colour without it being unwieldy for small hands.
What is the print and paper quality like?
Toodaloo books are printed in the UK on 140gsm paper chosen to reduce bleed-through with standard felt tips. Each book has a thick cover, and we include a colour test page so you can try your pens before colouring.
What age range is it best for?
Toodaloo books are designed for children aged 3 and up. Many families use them as a shared activity, with parents or older siblings helping younger children colour the pages together.
What if a preview page doesn't look right?
You can review every page before you pay. If a page doesn't look right, swap the photo and check the updated preview before checkout.
Can I change page order or replace photos before checkout?
Yes. In the review step, you can reorder pages and swap photos before you add your book to basket.
Can I upload photos from desktop and phone in the same book?
Yes. You can upload all photos from desktop, all photos from phone, or use a mix of both. To add phone photos while on desktop, use "Add from phone" and scan the QR code.
Can I save and finish later?
Your progress saves automatically as you work. When you're ready to stop, tap "Save & exit" and your book will be right where you left it. To continue on a different device, you can send yourself a resume link by email.
Can I order multiple copies of a book?
Yes. In your basket, choose "Print another copy" to increase quantity for an exact duplicate.
Can I make a similar version for another child without starting again?
Yes. In your basket, choose "Customise a copy" to open a new editable version with your photos and cover details pre-filled. You can keep most pages the same and change only a few photos, then add a new personal message before adding it to basket.
Orders, delivery and returns
What happens once an order is placed, and how we resolve issues.
When will my order be dispatched?
We print in the UK and dispatch within 2 working days. Standard delivery takes 2-4 working days after that, so most orders arrive within a week.
How much is delivery?
Standard delivery is £3.50 and includes premium packaging designed to protect your books from damage. Spend over £25 and your UK delivery is free automatically. First-time customers can also sign up to the newsletter for a free-delivery code on their first order.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Not yet. We deliver within the UK only right now, but we're working on it.
Can I edit or cancel after ordering?
If you need to cancel or amend details, use our contact page straight away with your order number. We can only make changes before production starts.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
Use our contact page with your order number, a short description, and clear photos. We'll review the issue and confirm the next step, usually a reprint or refund where appropriate.
Do you accept change-of-mind returns?
Because every book is personalised, change-of-mind returns aren't usually available once production starts. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
What if my parcel is delayed or lost?
If your parcel is delayed or appears lost, use our contact page with your order number. We'll check the carrier status and confirm the next step.
Is checkout secure, and how do payments work?
Yes. Orders are placed through secure Shopify checkout. Payments are handled by the payment methods shown at checkout, and we don't store full card details.
Privacy and support
How we handle your data and where to get help quickly.
What happens to my uploaded photos?
Your photos are used to create your book previews and print files. Toodaloo automatically deletes uploaded photos and related production files within 30 days after shipping. If you don't complete an order, we keep your uploads only as long as needed for you to come back and finish your book, then delete them automatically. If you want them removed sooner, use our contact page and we'll delete them straight away.
Do you use my photos for anything other than my order?
We use your photos to create, print, and deliver your book. We don't use them for marketing without your explicit permission.
What content can’t be uploaded?
We ask that all photos are yours and appropriate for children. Don’t upload anything illegal, hateful, or abusive. We may remove content that breaks these rules.
How do I contact support?
Use our contact page and include your order number if you have one. We aim to reply within two working days.
